The Graduates

3 of our Oaklea colleagues graduated from Northumbria University over the weekend following their completion of their level 4 Positive Behaviours Support (PBS) qualification. A great example of how Oaklea as an organisation likes to develop our people.

Top trio assemble – You can see Paul Copley, Paul Dent & Emma Herdman(Oaklea PBS Facilitator’s).

So what is PBS I hear you ask?

PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) in a nutshell is all about increasing understanding of the behaviour of an individual -in other words it allows us to better support the people we engage with day to day. It allows us to assess the physical and social environment and the impact this can have on living a healthy and fulfilling life

Emma Herdman adds in between dodging flying hats:

“I just wanted to thank you all for the opportunity in the first place to do the PBS training and for all of the support during the course. As you all know I love PBS and I’m excited that I get to be part of the training. I graduated on Friday along with Paul Copley and Paul Dent and we had a fabulous day!”

Emma wanted to give a special mention to NE Team Manager Mark Crawley -it’s a team effort:

“So thank you again to Oaklea (and Mark) for all the support we couldn’t have done it without you!”
