Fundraising for #ProjectEdenside

How you can help -fundraising for #ProjectEdenside

Our plans will cost around 1.2 million pounds -and a key element to #ProjectEdenside will be the need to raise around £250,000 through fundraising.

You could do a sponsored event - download our #ProjectEdenside sponsor form below

Why not give on a regular basis -for example set up a standing order -details below - or consider Gift Aid? Every penny will go to #ProjectEdenside.

Changes to online donations: We’ve moved to justgiving.com

Up until now we have used the virginmoneygiving.com fundraising platform - however this was shut down at the end of November 2021. We will encourage donors/fundraisers to use justgiving.com - we have our own page https://www.justgiving.com/oaklea-trust

As an example - Viktoria Schaefer & her family raised funds for Edenside by taking part in the ‘Gelt Gladiator’ mudfest challenge! -see how easy it is to donate to our cause online (a lot easier than actually taking part in ‘Gelt Gladiator’!).

Get in touch - we can give further information on

  1. Cash donations (at the Hub Cafe we have special Gift Aid cash envelopes you can use -just ask a member of the Hub team)
  2. Bequests
  3. Becoming a Corporate donor
  4. Fundraising ideas

We can also supply a Fundraising Pack for individuals or groups who are keen to do something to help bring in funds.

If you would like to get involved in raising funds or in sharing your views on the development you can contact us via our Head Office – E: enquiry@oakleatrust.co.uk T: 01539 735025 or in writing to Second Floor, East Wing, Station House, Station Rd, Kendal, CUMBRIA, LA9 6SA.

If you want to discuss specific fundraising ideas and suggestions - contact Simon Dey Marketing & Communications Officer #Project Edenside

We have also produced a leaflet regarding making a Will etc - click here Oaklea wills leaflet WEB friendly.pdf

The fundraising ball was kicked off big time in February 2019 -when the Norben Charity gave a huge £15,000 donation to #ProjectEdenside - here you can see Trustee Dot Anderton with Oaklea CEO Clive Wigley. The Norben charity is Appleby specific and was set up by former Vicar of Appleby & Warcop Peter Norton - with the aim of supporting community projects in the area. Peter -who now lives in Ireland- was very moved by the aftermath of Storm Desmond and the floods of 2015 -not least because he was a regular visitor to Edenside to see the people who lived there. A massive thank you to Norben for this donation - only £235,000 to go!
